Counseling Services

FEES:

Individual counseling session (55 minutes): $75.00

Couples counseling session (55 minutes): $100.00

I accept cash, credit cards and checks.  I am a provider on the United Healthcare Student Resources insurance panel.

I work collaboratively with my clients to address whatever is most important to them.  I do not expect my clients to reveal everything about themselves and their history within the first session, which is why I do not ask you to fill out extensive paperwork that may prompt you to report issues you are not yet comfortable discussing.  If it is important and necessary for our work, we will get there when you are ready.

I am a grounded and authentic therapist, with a focus on creating an emotionally safe space for my clients to MOVE AT THEIR OWN PACE and develop trust in me as their therapist.  When you meet with me, you may want to jump right in and start discussing a pressing personal or relationship issue.  Or, you may want me to get to know you and  some of your life story first.  I am comfortable listening to your current concerns and filling in other details as we go, or I can move things along with questions if you feel you need a little “push” to get started with the process.

While I view my clients as human beings and not lists of symptoms, it may be helpful for you to know what issues and symptoms I can assist you with:

“Things falling apart is kind of a testing and also kind of a healing.  We think that the point is to pass the test or overcome the problem, but the truth is that things don’t really get solved.  They come together and they fall apart.  Then they come together again and fall apart again.  It’s just like that.  The healing comes from letting there be room for all of this to happen: room for grief, for relief, for misery, for joy.”  – Pema Chödrön
